    Big declines in Atlantic Salmon leads to questions about what happens out at sea

    Concerns about the big decline of the iconic Atlantic Salmon in Britain's river systems are leading scientists to investigate what happens to this iconic fish while it's out to sea, with, on average, only 3% of fish leaving the river returning to spawn and this figure has regularly dropped below 1%. If the decline continues, wild Atlantic salmon will disappear from UK rivers in the next 30 years.

IEMA Approved Training Partner Astutis launch their first online Environmental and Sustainability course

IEMA welcomes the launch of Health, Safety and Environmental training specialist Astutis Ltd's first online 'Green-Career boosting' course for everyone working in environment and sustainability.

IEMA welcomes Astutis' new online course delivery which will allow more learners to take the Foundation Certificate in Environmental Management in a way that fits in with their everyday lifestyle". astutisDeveloped in collaboration with IEMA, the new online course is suitable for those professionals starting a career in environmental management who want a develop a solid knowledge of governance principles alongside the breadth of the sustainability agenda. With many employees and learners having no choice but to work from home, the online course presents an opportunity to build career-enhancing skills whilst benefiting from all the perks of Associate Membership with IEMA.

To support those working from home, the course allows learners to work in their own time, wherever and whenever suits them. The structured online programme includes readily available interactive exercises, videos, downloadable study text, practice assessments and access to the Astutis TrackSmartTM tool, an aid to creating an individual study plan. Upon passing the course, learners will become Associate members of IEMA, providing them with a gateway into the profession.
