Holding Mayor to account on floods - London Assembly Member & Councillor to speak at Floodex

Hina Bokhari, London Assembly Member & Merton Councillor to speak at Floodex 2021

Newly elected London Assembly member Hina Bokhari will be joining Floodex to talk about her work holding the Mayor of London to account on flooding. In her work at City Hall, she's Deputy Chair of the Economy Committee, and sits as a member of the Environment Committee and the Fire, Resilience and Emergency Planning Committee.

hanki bakari floodex mainAs a Merton Councillor (Liberal Democrats), she has seen first hand the consequences of flash flooding and this autumn, following floods in the city, has been putting forward questions to the Mayor about plans and finance for Sustainable Drainage Systems (SuDS).

Her forthcoming talk at Floodex is promoted by the exhibition organisers as being interesting particularly given how important local government support can be to getting solutions in on the ground.

Floodex, co-located with The National Drainage Show, is taking place next week, 9th–10th November at ExCel London. The event is free to register online here or attend on the day. A downloadable show guide is available here :
